Hi. Hello. My name is Ashley Michelle. Thank you for being here if you're new, thank you for returning if you're not. Wow. Throwback to when Ashley was doing YouTube. Crazy. Hi. How are you?
Sweet bean. Welcome to the vault, to the dark content archive. I wanna be really intentional with the space. So first, thank you for being here, and thank you for being a part of this sacred space that I'd like to create. And I hope that you stick around.
I hope that you enjoy it. I hope that you love it. I'm very much very well known for my rambling voice notes. And so part of what I want to do here in the archive is kind of bring that energy to the table for everybody, right, who's here. And secondly, I would like to have this as an available space for people who, you know, who are interested in the behind the scenes things.
You know? Like, you're the kind of person who looks up interviews with the actors. You're the kind of person who likes the two disc special edition. You know what I'm saying? Throwback ayyee.
But I also want it to be for people who are like, I don't have time to read, but what I do have time to do is listen to, you know, my friend ramble about their work in progress or even read their work in progress to me. The way that this idea started was quite literally that, a friend of mine, a writer friend of mine, Shiloh, Shiloh Sloan, if you guys haven't, a you should go check her out because she has the most delicious, the most wonderful, just yummy. I love Shiloh's world. Like, it's Shiloh's world, and we're all just living in it, honestly. Anyway, so when Shiloh and I started becoming friends and she started, like, sharing her works in progress with me, it was in the middle of me doing a lot of things.
I don't remember exactly what it was at the time, but I am I'm a very go go go person. Like, I'm always on the run. I'm always doing something. I'm always probably half late to something. So very sagittarius of me.
I'm so sorry. But that's really where this where this came from. Right? And so Shiloh would read to me her works in progress as she was either editing them or, like, as she was writing them. And I don't even remember exactly how it started, but she started reading it to me, and I was like, you should do this.
I still think she should do this. Shiloh, get on that. But for now, I'm stealing the idea. Right? Because what I would like to provide people with is, oh, look.
Number one, the author is reading their work. I'm a huge proponent of authors reading their own work. I don't know why. I don't know what it is exactly. Even if they're not performers, right, like, because there is a difference between, like, performing work and reading work.
Right? But even if they're not performers because I I will tell you right now, I am not a performer. Okay? I'll do my best. But, really, I the best we can hope for with me is that I just I get into character, and I'm hyper focused.
I'm zeroed in. Right? That's the best that we can hope for in this situation. And that is the only thing that I'm that I'm hoping to get from this. Right?
Is I'm hoping to be able to give you guys a way to, you know, have my books accessibly, because I can't I can't necessarily afford to produce everything in audio. And not only can I not afford to produce everything in audio, but sometimes it's like it's really hard to get certain things produced, and still do it in a way that make makes me feel good and that's ethically sound and that, you know, gives me the amount of control that I would want to feel comfortable putting my things out there like that? So, you know, there's there's a lot of reasons, I guess, for for why I'm trying to do things this way. And part of that is just so that way people can have an alternative way to listen to my things because I I miss out on so many good stories just because I I don't have the audio or I can't afford the audio at the time or whatever. And I found ways around that.
Right? Like, I have, you know, my friends, my author friends who will read things to me, their own stuff. I have, like, apps and stuff like that now that will read to me, but, like, it's still it's still a work in progress. No no pun intended. And it's it's still not perfect.
Right? It's not a perfect system. And what I'm hoping to create is the best, most perfect system that I can because then you get to hear not just things before they come out. Right? Because you're gonna get to to hear my works in progress as I'm doing them.
You're gonna get to hear all of these fun things that I'm working on that I've spent years intentionally sitting with and beautifully writing and loving and nurturing, but I never get to, like, publish them because I am such a chaotic writer. I am very much a mood writer, and so they're gonna go everywhere. They're gonna you're you know, they're here. They're there. They're fucking out the window everywhere, and I just I don't always get to sit down and finish something.
That's just not the way that my brain works all the time. And sometimes I can get it to do that. Sometimes I can't. Most of the time, I can't. So being mindful of that, I want this space.
You know, I want you to come in with intention, understanding that, like, handle these things with care because I am not I don't wanna promise anyone anything ever. But what I do wanna do is I wanna be able to provide you with enough content that you feel like it was worth it to be here. And one of the things that I wanna do is I wanna make things accessible to people. So even if you are like, oh, I'm only gonna spend, you know, $20, and I'm only gonna be here for two months, and I'm gonna binge all this bitch's shit. Yeah.
Do that, bitch. Yes. I applaud you and then bounce. Leave. It's fine.
I don't mind. The point is the point being, right, of this entire thing is just that I want a space where people care about what it is that I am providing, and I want people to enjoy what it is that I'm providing in a way that's like that feels good and ethical to me, but also, like, is good and ethical for me. Right? And not just, like, you know, throwing things out into the ether and then being disappointed by, you know, whatever. I'm trying.
We're trying. Everyone's trying. And, like, the world is on fire, and I can I can be reasonable about that? Right? Anyway, so all of that to say, welcome.
Thank you for being here. Please don't share any links or downloads or anything like that. Obviously, I don't think that I need to say that, but I I will just in case. So that way I feel like I've covered all my bases. But, really, what I wanna do here is I wanna be able to, like, just give people sneak peeks.
I wanna give people something to look forward to. I wanna give people something like, I wanna share my work with the world, and I want it to be as accessible as possible. And that's what I'm trying to do here. So if you stuck with me for this long, thank you so much. I'm gonna probably end it here.

When I when I read these things, I am we're going off vibes, y'all. Be here for the vibes. Don't be here for a performance. Don't be here for perfection. I am going to if I feel giggly that day and I can't get through a sex scene, I'm so sorry.
I'm so sorry. You're gonna have to giggle and teehee with me. Okay? That's just gonna be a part of it. But maybe some days, I will be better.
Maybe some days, I'll be, like, in it. You know? I'll be in the zone. It's really all gonna just depend on, you know, my brain that day. And brains be braining.
Right? People be people and humans be human. And so, like, just take it with a grain of salt and and think of it as, like, oh, my friend's reading their work in progress to me because that's what I really that's really what I want this to be. And, honestly, I would make this free genuinely, but I just, like part of it is piracy things. Right?
Like, I don't want the potential for piracy to be, like, as elevated as it would be. So, anyway, that's it. I love you guys, and I appreciate you being here. Okay? Like, I just I wanna say that.
I wanna get that out of the way first, and just enjoy. Alright? Come and go as you please. You know? And enjoy and just try maybe not to have any, like, specific expectations of anything that you see here.
And I think that we will get along and just fine and fantastic and great and wonderful. And you know what? To be quite honest, I but I'll probably do this for the for the full year that I wanna do this for, and, like, no one will show up ever. And so I'm just recording these things for myself. And you know what?
That's okay. If that's what happens, that is a o k. Also, I'm gonna try not to do it, but I I do burp a lot sometimes. So I'm gonna I'm gonna really, really try hard not to do that in front of you guys.
